I am writing to express my interest in the Research Scientist position at your esteemed
organization. With over 11 years of experience in polymer and material science, I bring a strong
background in sustainable materials, advanced formulations, and technology transfer.
Currently, I serve as an Advanced Scientist at Archroma International (India) Pvt. Ltd.,
where I lead new product development in organo-silicone and biobased sustainable materials for
textile finishing applications. My work has resulted in the commercialization of a global silicone
product, submission of two biopolymer IP reports, and successful technology transfer for acrylate
emulsions.
Previously, at Momentive Performance Materials, I developed PFAS-free, biodegradable
materials for beauty and agricultural applications, leading to two patented cosmetic technologies:
“Biodegradable Spherical Particles for Cosmetic Applications” (Application No.: 202411065713)
“Polyterpene Film Former for Cosmetic Applications” (Application No.: 202411073498).
I also worked as Research Associate at SMS LifesciencesInd.Ltd, as a team leader to
developing Active Pharmaceutical Intermediates for bulk drug processing in API industry .
My research primarily focuses on the synthesis and material properties of graphene-
polymer nanocomposites, utilizing techniques such as aqueous emulsions and surface-initiated
ATRP (SI-ATRP). I have developed comb-like polymer grafted graphene from hydrogenated
cardanol via SI-ATRP, with applications in pressure-sensitive adhesives, as published in Macromol.
Mater. Eng. (301, 81–92, 2016), Polym. Adv. Technol. (26, 214–222, 2015), and J. Appl. Polym.
Sci. (135, 45885, 2018).
The amphiphilic properties of graphene oxide (GO) have been extensively studied for use
as stabilizers for metal cations, drug carriers, and heavy metal removal in water purification.
During my Ph.D., I developed amphiphilic polymeric graphene materials to improve water
dispersibility and applied them in preparing polystyrene nanocomposites via aqueous emulsion
polymerization (Colloid Polym Sci., 296, 133–144, 2018). As a Postdoctoral Researcher, I successfully managed the Belgium Feder Macobio project
on low-carbon footprint materials from renewable resources (2019–2021), resulting in
publications such as Macromol. Mater. Eng. on bio-sourced PLLA-flax composites with enhanced
stiffness through two-stage annealing.
Additionally, I actively contributed to the STINT project (Swedish Institution of Higher
Education and Research) on graphene-based nanocomposites, including carbon nanospheres and
quantum dots derived from biomass via microwave irradiation at KTH-RIT, employing SI-ATRP
techniques.
My collaborative work spans multidisciplinary projects, including:
GO-poly(3-Hexylthiophene) nanocomposites for solar cells and energy storage
GO-polyacrylonitrile membranes for water purification
Development of reactive surfactants for emulsifiers and reinforcement in materials
These experiences have strengthened my problem-solving skills, real-time analysis capabilities,
and technical expertise. I have hands-on experience with advanced characterization tools such as
IR, UV-Vis, GPC, DLS, DSC, FSC-DSC, DMTA, TGA, UTM, Rheometer, and Contact Angle
measurements.
With this technical acumen and proven research background, I am confident that my
expertise in polymer synthesis, sustainable materials, and product innovation aligns well with your
organization’s goals. I would welcome the opportunity to contribute to your team and discuss how
my skills can add value to your projects.
Thank you for considering my application. I look forward to the possibility of an interview.
