I hold an MSc by Research in Chemical Engineering from Universiti Teknologi PETRONAS, where I developed ionic-liquid-functionalized mixed-matrix membranes for CO₂/CH₄ separation. My work combined experimental membrane fabrication with molecular dynamics (MD) simulations, providing strong insight into transport mechanisms, structure-property relationships, and interfacial interactions in membrane systems. I regularly used advanced characterization tools, including FTIR, SEM-EDX, XRD, TGA, and DSC, to evaluate membrane performance.

Although my previous research was focused on gas separation, the fundamental membrane science principles I worked with, sorption-diffusion behavior, fouling mechanisms, nanoscale interactions, and permeability/selectivity dynamics, are directly transferable to food membrane filtration. My MD simulation background provides an additional advantage in understanding protein-fat-membrane interactions at the molecular level, which can support the development of optimized, more sustainable filtration processes.

I am highly motivated to transition my membrane research experience into food science applications, particularly in developing innovative processes for separating proteins and fats using advanced membrane filtration. The UP2MEM Marie Skłodowska-Curie network appeals to me because of its interdisciplinary training environment, strong industry collaboration, and emphasis on scalable, sustainable membrane solutions.

This PhD aligns well with my long-term goal of contributing to sustainable processing technologies and building expertise in both experimental and computational membrane science. I believe my background, skills, and motivation make me a strong fit for this position.
